Mission Psychology, formerly known as Russel Thompson, PhD & Associates, is a team of behavioral health experts, with a particular interest in helping people who have problems due to a combination of medical, cognitive, and emotional factors. We help people who have problems with attention and memory. We see people with depression, anxiety, and other cognitive problems.
Our assessments help people who have concerns about cognitive problems due to dementia, ADD ADHD, TBI, seizures, dyslexia. Our assessment can also be helpful for those who have concerns about psychological factors that may interact with health such as obesity and pain.
Our therapy helps individuals and family members to change things and develop better coping strategies. We offer workshops (larger format) and groups (smaller format) where people can learn and interact.
Problems with attention or memory or chronic pain can interfere with school, work, and relationships. Assessments can help you understand your problems better and psychotherapy or counseling is often a good follow up to assessments.
Psychotherapy can help you learn new tools for dealing with your problems. Our team includes multiple doctors who can provide separate services to individuals and other family members, allowing for continuity while preserving confidentiality.
Psychologists are doctors, but we are different than psychiatrists. We are not medical doctors and we do not prescribe medicine. However, we work closely with your physicians to coordinate your care.
Psychologists are different than counselors. We have specialized training in assessment as well as therapy, allowing for more in-depth understanding of people’s problems.
